Las Vegas – Three people have been shot a day after a man was fatally shot at same apartment complex.
Thursday, January 28, 2016, a man was shot around 4:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Civic Center Drive near East Cheyenne Avenue said police spokesperson Ann Cavaricci reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The victim, 18-year-old Kishawn Washington, was found after police were called to the area for a shooting.
Washington was taken to University Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the chest reported FOX5 but died from his injuries.
Police believe a physical fight occurred before the fatal shots were fired. They also believe that there were multiple witnesses to the shooting.
Almost 24 hours later, three people were shot at the same apartment complex.
Two men and a woman were shot around 3:02 p.m. on Friday.
The injuries were non-fatal but the violence in the complex has residents in fear.
A 51-year-old woman who lives in the complex told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she is trying to move away from the complex.
“I’ve been here a year, I have kids in high school, I go to school just down the street,” she said, referring to the College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne campus, about a mile and a half away. “I’ve been planning on moving, and now it’s extremely important to get out of here with my kids. I hear gunshots all the time,” she said.
