An argument between Edward and Derrick Dean led to the shooting in the 4700 block of Hammett Place.

Police were told that around 8:16 p.m., there was a disturbance in the street, heard gunshots, then saw the brothers flee before collapsing as reported by stltoday.com.

In the interview, Edwin said that he tried to break up the two arguing during party that they were at with their closet friends. Dean was a friend of both brothers.

“Hey, what we fighting for? We family. We brothers, we don’t need to be fighting like that” Edwin said before he was shot in the chest.

Dean then turned the gun on Edward, striking him multiple times in the chest and upper body.

Dean has not been seen by law enforcement since the shooting.
