12-year-old robs bank, 16-year-old gets locked in-between bank doors during robbery

Detroit – A 16-year-old got caught green-handed during a bank robbery, weeks after a 12-year-old hit a lick (earned money in a way that’s not legal / robbed a bank) WDIV reported:

“A 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday after he got locked inside a bank he had just robbed, Detroit police said.

The teen targeted the Chase Bank branch on West Seven Mile Road near Greenfield Road by passing the teller a note that threatened to use a bomb if he wasn’t given money, police said.

The teller complied, but also activated the bank’s automatic door locks, which held the teen until police arrived.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Prosecutors adjourned Tuesday to decide if they will charge this teen as an adult. If he is convicted as an adult he could face life in prison.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the robbery to call criminal investigations at 313-596-5840.”

 

December 18th, WDIV reported that the Detroit police were looking for a woman in connection to the robbery of a bank on Thursday.

At that time it was thought that a young female had robbed the Comerica Bank in the 18000 block of Woodward.

Video surveillance captured what appeared to be a young woman but it is now being reported that it was a 12-year-old boy committing the robbery.
