Lansing – Gov. Rick Synder issued a statement with an apology to the Flint community and accepts Michigan Department of Environmental Quality’s director Dan Wyant resignation.

In the statement, Gov. Synder says that he started a task force to investigate the handling of the situation and asked for funding to switch the water back to the Great Lakes Water Authority.

He also accepted MDEQ Director Dan Wyant’s resignation. Accepting Wyant’s resignation insures that he won’t have a chance to poison any other Michigan community water supply.

Synder continues how “we should work to affirm that we are using the very best testing protocols to ensure Flint residents have safe drinking water…”.

I don’t think the citizens of Flint want to hear about what your going to do. The question is how did this happen in the first place. The Great Lakes Water Authority seems to have the water distribution thing figured out. One of the task force members’ should walk over and ask how it’s done.

More meetings are planned with Flint Mayor Karen Weaver and $10 million has been allocated for water testing, water filter distribution, and various other ways.
