Hollywood, Calif. – A man took off from a traffic stop, rammed a county Metro vehicle, killing the driver and later dying at the hospital himself.
At 1:59 a.m., a van burst into flames at Hollywood Boulevard and Gower Street. The result of a short lived plan to escape from the cops.
A police officer on patrol pulled over a silver Chevy Camaro for a routine traffic violation almost a mile away from the crash scene. The Camaro was occupied by at least a driver and a passenger. As the officer asked the female passenger of the Camaro to exit the car, the male driver sped away.

The “great escape” ended when the car slammed into a Metro van, driven by a single occupant, believed to be a male said Metro spokes woman Anna Chen.
The Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said that the driver of the Camaro is thought to be about 20 years old. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later was pronounced dead.
