Fort Worth, TX – A teen collapsed dead in a driveway after getting shot during a home invasion reported CBSDFW.
The teen, 16-year-old Kevin Brown kicked in the door of an occupied home around 8:30 in the morning, January 19, 2016.
While Brown was inside of the house on Miami Springs Drive, the 15-year-old son of the homeowner defended the home and shot Brown.
Brown ran from house after getting shot and collapsed in a driveway not far away on Sarasota Springs Drive.
A man who lives across the street from where Brown collapsed was came out of his home heading to work and noticed Brown’s body in the driveway.
“I came out this morning… I was getting ready to leave and I saw a young black gentleman in the driveway. He was just laying there,” said Joshua Tanksley.
Tanskley along with other neighbors checked if Brown had a pulse but it was already too late.
“He was shot right in the middle of his heart, right in the middle,” Tanksley told WFAA.
Brown was the father of a 14-month-baby.
A resident in the area, Curtis Bailey, whose home was recently burglarized had a message about the recent rash of car break-ins and burglaries.
“My message to them, because I have a son that young, is — you got to stop man. Go get you a job. Do something positive because that breaking and entering is going to get you where this guy is, you know, resting in peace.”
Police are looking for at least one other suspect involved in the home invasion. A black Mazda was seen driving away from the scene.
